Kagle’s Gardens started as a one-man show in 2012 and since then Jon has grown Kagle’s Gardens into a carefully assembled team of horticultural caretakers, servicing gardens in Delaware County, Montgomery County, and Chester County in the Greater Philadelphia Area.

Jon Kagle,

founder & operator

Jon Kagle, although a Maryland native, moved to Pennsylvania to attend Williamson Trade School in Media, Pa for horticulture. He has always loved two things: being outdoors and local, small businesses. So much so that his first entry into entrepreneurship was a lawn-cutting business he started as a kid, helping out his neighbors during the summer months. He is now the founder and operator of Kagle’s Gardens, an award-winning garden care and maintenance team.

  • Jon graduated from Williamson Trade School in Media, PA with honors in 2010. He focused his studies on horticulture, landscaping, and turf management.

He continued his education at Neumann University receiving his Bachelor’s degree in 2016 and at Fox School of Business receiving his MBA in 2020.

  • 2010: While graduating from Williamson, Jon gained recognition from Longwood Gardens with their Award for Excellence in Horticulture.

2023 + 2024: Kagle’s Gardens was awarded the Mainline Parent’s LOVE award for “Best Landscaper”

2024: Jon received the Board of Trustees’ Clarence W. Schrenk 4W9 Young Alumnus Award from Williamson Trade School for his horticultural excellence and his dedication to mentoring the next generation of horticulturalists.

  • While starting Kagle’s Gardens in 2012 part-time, Jon was a full-time gardener for Cabrini College and then Episcopal Academy.

Unsure of how to navigate Kagle’s Gardens to a full-time business doing what he loves, he invested in himself to learn through Fox School of Business MBA program. In 2020, he made the official jump to working for himself, and immediately started gaining recognition from happy clients!

He continues to engage in the future of horticulture through his work as a Chairman and original member of YAAC - Young Alumni Advisory Council at Williamson. The advisory council is tasked with mentoring current students and engaging alumni.

From combining his extensive experience and educational investment in horticulture with his history of engagement and commitment to the people of the region, Jon brings a necessary and unique service through Kagle’s Gardens. He offers a Yearly Garden Care Plan focused on monthly maintenance of your garden’s health and beauty. This ensures your garden sees consistent and stress-free care, all year long.
